Ironhide Game Studio announced today that their new mobile tower defense game, Legends of Kingdom Rush, will be available to PC via Steam in June of 2022. Legends is the 5th installment in the Kingdom Rush series and the first to feature tactical turn-based gameplay with roguelike elements. Legends is currently available on iOS devices exclusively through an Apple Arcade subscription.
Legends is a game that features strategic depth by choosing the best course of action and team selection to defeat a range of powerful foes. Players will have the opportunity to fight for a kingdom under siege in medieval times, commanding 6 legendary heroes in turn-based combat. These legendary heroes are assigned in 1 of 4 classes such as Agile, Tanks, Mages, or Crafters, along with possessing unique skills and traits that provide an upper hand in battle. The character roster includes a holy paladin, dark assassin, an evil demon, voodoo witch, a forest defender, and an elven avenger. These heroes may also come with 12 companion heroes, such as a barbarian or knight.
During an adventure, the goal is to traverse the map while surviving battles and upgrading gear in order to best take on a boss in the final node. Each map is a hex-based grid that allows for heroes to move around the combat area. Including the thrill of battle, there are over a hundred narrative events through environments such as lush forests, rugged mountains and devastated wastelands. Each adventure is highly replayable meaning each adventure will be different, with more than 80 achievements to unlock throughout the gameplay. There is even an Arena Mode where players can compete with friends to reach the top of the leaderboard by defeating the daily challenge.
Ironhide had released their first game in their award-winning saga Kingdom Rush in 2011. The iOS version received an average score of 89/100 on Metacritic, as well as being the most played game on the site in 2015 with over 70 million plays. Since then, Ironhide has released Kingdom Rush: Frontiers in 2013, Origins in 2014 and Vengeance in 2018. Legends is now open to add on your Steam Wishlist.
