After a decade on the Amazon-owned streaming platform, Imane “Pokimane” Anys announced her departure from Twitch this Tuesday. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Pokimane announced her leaving the platform as the “end of an era,” thanking Twitch for “all the memories and love.”

As of January 31, 2024, Pokimane is the most followed female and 10th most followed streamer on Twitch, with over 9.3 million followers. Known for her League of Legends, Fortnite, Among Us and Valorant streams, Pokimane began streaming on Twitch in 2013, growing to become one of its largest creators in her streaming career.
Replying to her post on X, Twitch congratulated Pokimane on “everything [she’d] accomplished” and her “incredible journey.” Although many suspect Pokimane may not be leaving the platform entirely, but rather beginning to multi-stream, streaming on many platforms at once, ending her exclusive contract with Twitch.
What an incredible journey it’s been. We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and what’s ahead in the future.
You’ll always have a home on Twitch, Poki 💜

In November 2022, following a break from content creation and social media, Pokimane uploaded a YouTube video in which she said Twitch was no longer as “creatively fulfilling,” and would look towards creating more content on other social media such as TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
Pokimane’s latest stream, titled “secret morning stream,” was 4 days prior to her announcement on X. During the stream, she played Valorant and Palworld, the hit “Pokémon With Guns” survival game taking the gaming world by storm.
