Widely regarded as the number one source of Pokemon-related news is the Japanese magazine, CoroCoro, which publishes stories covering and promoting popular toys, anime, and manga. The latest issue brought with it news of upcoming Pokemon content that hasn’t yet been announced by Nintendo International themselves. Take a look at the first of two scans:
There’s a lot to take in here for those interested. To start, Zygarde is getting forms. Many, many forms. Translating the text reveals that the Zygarde form everyone is familiar with is the Pokemon at 50% power. Each of the introduced forms represent Zygarde at different levels of strength, measured in percent. Towering over the rest of the page spread’s images is the titan-like 100% Zygarde, also called Perfect Zygarde, and said to be more powerful than both Xerneas and Yveltal. Moving in the opposite direction on the power scale, the black and green dog-like creature is 10% Zygarde, who is strangely quicker than 50% Zygarde.
At the far left is the powerless Zygarde with two forms specific to the 0% level of power. Above is the creature that slightly resembles Solosis, known as Zygarde Core, and beneath it is its flattened form, resembling a cell on a slide beneath a microscope, known as Zygarde Cell. And with this pair, the list of all currently known forms of Zygarde is complete. Besides Zygarde, though, Greninja may have a new form.
Shown in the bottom left corner is a teaser for the upcoming anime installments. The series known as Pokemon X and Y will become Pokemon XY & Z, and will debut on October 29th in Japan after the fourth Mega Evolution Special. Also shown is Ash’s Frogadier in its final form, Greninja, but he doesn’t look like the standard Greninja.
Many fans have already concocted theories on what this unique Greninja means. Some predict it will be an accessible form in future games, though text within the magazine mentions that Greninja “looks sort of like Ash’s clothes.” Until more information is released, nothing is confirmed for this form other than its presence in the upcoming anime episodes.
Regardless, a good majority of the fans would greatly appreciate a Pokemon Z Version, though nothing like that has been confirmed or denied as of yet. All anyone can do at this point is continue to hope for word from Nintendo themselves.
