While Appletun, Flapple, Lapras, and Coalassal are no longer on boosted raids, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield fans may be excited to hear that a new event has taken its place. According to Serrebiinet, players will be able to capture Gigtantamax Toxtricity and Gigantamax Kingler in their respective games from now until March 8th. Alongside this, a new mystery gift code is being distributed right now in order to promote the Wild Area event change. From today until March 31st, if players type in the code PUNKROCK players will be able to receive TR 94 High Horsepower, a powerful Ground-type attack that can be doubly useful to take-down Toxtricity
Players in Pokémon Sword will also be able to capture Gigantamax Kingler as well as Gigantamax Grimmsnarl in G-Max Raids, while players in Pokémon Shield will be able to capture G-Max Hatterene and G-Max Orbeetle. Gigantamax Toxtricity will be available in two different forms in depending on which game they are encountered in. Players in Pokémon Sword will be able to encounter G-Max Toxicitry in its Amped form, while players in Pokémon Shield will be able to encounter it in its Low Key Form. At the moment, this appears to be the only way to capture G-Max Toxtricity in either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield so players should act quickly if they want to capture one.
Aside from this event, players can also acquire a number of other goodies including a free bottlecap in Mystery Gift right now by using the code COMPET1T1ON until March 31st. Game Freak is also distributing 10 free Heal Balls as well as 20 battle points if players use the codes G1GAGRANF1NAL and SUPEREFF1CACE. There are no more events available at this moment but it is likely that more events will eventually be added to both Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Players can also pre-order the expansion pass for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield right now for $29.99 in the Nintendo eshop.
