It looks like Game Freak is preparing to finish off Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s content with a neatly wrapped bow. The studio, along with Nintendo, announced that the title will be receiving a special brand new epilogue called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, which is sate to launch on January 11, 2024. This end-game content will have the player team up with Arven, Nemona, and Penny as they traverse through the area known as Kitami, which was briefly featured during the Teal Mask DLC.
However, and perhaps the most obvious thing aspect about this epilogue, is that in order to gain access to it, you will need to have finished both the main base game, and the previously released content. This includes the aforementioned Teal Mask DLC and the Indigo Disk, which just came out earlier this month. Ironically, this incoming epilogue was datamined and leaked ahead of time, although we didn’t know the full extent of what the content would actually contain. For those who wish to avoid some spoilers though, we’d recommend staying away from certain Pokemon tags while searching online.
Game Freak has been very busy since Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched a little more than a year ago for the Nintendo Switch. The studio has been cranking out content after content, as well as several hotfixes and patches. One of the most notable issues that players ran into with the game came about earlier this year when their saves were literally being deleted. Considering how many hours are usually being logged onto each playthrough, this caused a bit of an uproar in the community. Thankfully, the studio has been able to mitigate these issues, and now that the title is coming to a close, perhaps it’s time to look forward to a new entry.
