Pokémon Masters Released Today

The newest Pokémon game developed by DeNA is now available for both iOS and Android devices. First announced at the Pokémon press conference earlier this year, the game has changed the way players battle by revolutionizing the turn based system of previous Pokémon games.  The game itself takes place in the Pasio Region and involves the player forming a partnership with a specific Pokémon in the game.

Each trainer has access to one Pokémon which gives way to the gacha mechanic, different trainers have different Pokémon, thus allowing for players to have the chance to roll for one of 65 trainers from either the Pokémon games or the Pokémon anime. Players do battle with other trainers in a rather unique 3v3 battle style with players controlling three trainers with each trainer having a single Pokémon. Each Pokémon will have access to a variety of moves, just like normal with one caveat, each move has a timer, so once a player uses a move for a Pokémon, they cannot repeat the same move for a certain amount of time.

According to Gamespot, the story mode of the game has a lot of depth, and the game itself doesn’t appear to focus too much on microtransactions, instead focusing on giving players awesome battles. The microtransactions have a price ranging from $1 to $80 for a number of objects known as gems that can be spent in game. The new game has also changed the type mechanics of battle, so Pokémon in the games will only be considered one type, so Pokémon like Charizard, Blaziken, and many other Pokémon who ordinarily have dual-types will not have them in this game, limiting their weaknesses and simplifying strategy. The game is available on iOS and Android right now and is free to play, so anyone can become the very best today!
