Pokémon Go Shares New Details on Mega Evolution

For a few weeks now, Pokémon Go Fest 2020 has been going very well for many fans of the popular game. This event is where players will be able to complete multiple new Research Tasks that entails catching elusive new and shiny Pokémon and also battle against the members of Team Go Rocket. With new things coming to the Pokémon Go Fest 2020 every week the project lead on Pokémon Go, Matt Slemon did an interview on some of the upcoming features that will be included in the game and discussed new details about Mega Evolutions.

In the YouTube video on the Pokémon Go channel, Matt Slemon is talking about the new Mega Evolution and its development. “We’re really excited for Mega Evolution. It’s been really important to us as developers and fans of the franchise to get this one right. It’s something we’ve been spending some time on. The one thing I can confirm today is that your existing Pokémon today are the ones that will be Mega Evolving. So the Charizard that you got at the very beginning of the game, your first Charmander, the one that you evolved on Community Day, those are all candidates. They can all be Mega Evolved.”

With Mega Evolution being the topic of the discussion, some players of the game notice something that probably gave some hints that the Mega Evolutions were going to become a huge thing coming to the game. Fans noticed that there was a new loading screen that featured multiple new Pokémon that included Mega Charizard X.

Matt Slemon also discussed the upcoming level cap increasing from 40 to 50. He stated that he wanted the team to implement some kind of change that goes beyond the typical grind of XP when players make their way to Level 41 to 50. Even though he discussed this matter briefly, later in the year they the team will release more details.
