Pokemon GO’s biggest annual real-world celebration is returning, with its first event being hosted at the Britzer Garten in Berlin, Germany. After the 2-part global experience which takes place on June 4 and 5, there will be 3 different in-person events across the world for the first time since the summer of 2019. For those able to make it to Berlin, tickets can be purchased on the website.
Pokemon GO’s first-ever event was in 2017 and boasted exclusive features for attendees such as exclusively featuring Lugia and Articuno, the mobile game’s first Legendary Pokemon. This year, the event features Mythical Gratitude Pokemon Shaymin. Like past in-person events, trainers who make it to Britzer Garten will have access to features, giveaways and more such as event-exclusive Special Research which triggers the encounter with Sky Forme Shaymin and Pokemon GO Fest 2022 T-shirts.
Other cities chosen by developer Niantic were Seattle, Washington and Sapporo, Japan. If these locations are not accessible, trainers can choose to purchase tickets for the global event happening Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 for $15. All trainers across Pokemon GO have the opportunity to encounter different habitat hour Pokemon and special Pokemon featured in one-star raids. Ticket holder benefits would allow for Special Research tasks, and boosted opportunities to encounter Pokemon and other event items.
Without a ticket, all trainers can enjoy a free avatar item and have the opportunity to encounter Pokemon not previously seen in the game such as Shiny Axew and Shiny Shroomish. With the purchased ticket, trainers will have the chance to be a part of the Special Research with a personalized difficulty level and gameplay focus (that changes according to Special Research tasks). Another perk along with the ticket is that Pokemon featured during each habitat hour will be more attracted to Incense, as well as Shiny Pokemon being more likely to appear. Both days will feature the same Pokemon during the event hours. As for the Fest Finale, it will take place over a month later on Saturday, August 27 and feature a new Special Research story, exciting Pokemon encounters and more. If trainers don’t purchase a ticket for the global event days, they can purchase stand-alone tickets for $10.99 USD. A full-paid vs free chart can be found here.
