Fans of the Pokémon series may be sad to hear that The Pokémon company is shutting down the Pokémon Global Link. According to Gamespot, fans of Pokémon who still play Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, or Pokémon Ultra Moon will no longer be able to use any gameplay features that require Pokémon Global Link. This means that once the website is shut down, players will no longer be able to battle in online competitions or view their rankings to find out who is the very best.
Fans might be happy to hear that before the Pokémon Global Link servers shut down, The Pokémon Company is giving away one final Pokémon to Pokémon Global Link users. From today until February 24th, 2020, players will be able to claim a free Fennel’s Munna in any Gen 7 3DS game. This Munna is based on, the Dream World researcher from Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, Professor Fennel’s Munna. In order to receive this prize, players must log into the Pokémon Global Link website and a personal notification about the gift will be visible on the homepage. Players can then click on the link within the notification and it will generate a download code. After this, players must go into their Mystery Gift in their 3DS on either Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun, or Pokémon Ultra Moon in order to receive the gift. Players can redeem the gift at any Pokémon center in game.
In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield players will soon be able to capture the elusive Gigantamax Snorlax. Its description reads, “The Berry seeds and small rocks that were tangled in its belly fur have undergone explosive growth thanks to the power of Gigantamaxing.” This Pokémon will be quite useful for Raid battles due to its unique move G-Max Replenish which not only deals massive damage but it also replenishes any berries allies have consumed during the battle. The Pokémon Global Link website states that the website will shut down in late February 2020, so gamers have until then to receive Fennel’s Munna.
