Pokémon recently announced via their website that there will be an online competition for owners of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. The competition is called the Kanto x Alola Regional Rumble and, as you might be able to guess from the name, participants can only use Pokémon from the first or seventh generations.
Registration for the competition is now open. In order to register, you’ll have to log into your Pokémon Global Link (PGL) account from the PGL homepage. Once you have logged in and reached the main menu, select “Online Competitions.” There, you will be able to read and accept the rules and regulations, which includes a list of Pokémon that are eligible to be entered into the competition. To participate in the competition, you will need a Pokémon Trainer Club account, a full team of eligible Pokémon and your own copy of Pokémon Sun or Moon. You can register from now until the competition begins on March 17 at 12:00AM UTC (or 7:00PM EST / 4:00PM PST on March 16).
During the competition, all Pokémon will be set to level 50, so don’t worry if you’ve only been able to raise one Pokémon to level 100; they’ll all get evened out anyway. The announcement states that each player’s goal for the competition should be “to reach the top of the leaderboards, which will be posted after the competition ends.” Nothing is said about any kind of reward other than bragging rights. However, qualified entrants will receive a Pidgeotite and a Steelixite for participating in the competition. The competition will last from March 17 at 12:00AM UTC to March 19 at 11:59PM UTC (6:59PM EST / 3:59PM PST).
