PlayStation VP Adam Boyes earlier announced that he was going to depart for a game development job. The now boss of Xbox, Phil Spencer sent his regards to him wishing him the best in his future. His specific words are “Best of luck in your new endeavors, my friend, looking forward to seeing what you do with the next step in your career.” So although the two worked in rival companies they still had a strong friendship, and have earned the respect of one another.
Before Boyes went to PlayStation, he used to work for Capcom where he helped the production team. But then he parted from Capcom after 3 years. He then began to partake in other big game projects, such as Payday 2, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, and Overkill’s The Walking Dead. Throughout his years spent at PlayStation, he has made a big name for himself. He has done many big announcements, such as at the 2015 E3 Conference he had the pleasure of announcing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and the Kickstarter for Shenmue 3.
As a big PlayStation fan this news devastates me, but I knew someday he would eventually leave. But what makes this leave better than a retirement is that he can continue to bring great things to the gaming community since he will be in game development. I cannot wait to see what kind of games he develops in the future whether it is PlayStation exclusive or not.
