Playstation 4’s New System Update 4.0 to See Beta Tests Next Month

Sony has officially announced that it will be opening up beta registration to test out the new Playstation 4 system update 4.0.

Sony has had beta tests in the past with their system updates 3.0 and 3.5. They plan to allow a limited number of people to have access to the new update and try out all the new features. The beta sign up starts now and they expect to begin testing in a month.

In order to be eligible you must be at least 18 years old and have an internet connected PS4, while also having access to the master account. If you are selected to be a tester, and after the update is downloaded, you will still have the option to revert back to the previous version. The only thing needed to register is to go here and give them your Playstation Network username.

So far there has not been any word about what exactly the new update will add, nor have they stated when exactly the new update will be released. The beta is set to be released in August and people can apply until it is released. If chosen, Sony will send out an email with information on how to access the Playstation 4 System Software beta(including a voucher code).

In a Playstation blog they stated to, “be sure to provide feedback throughout the beta trial; while we can’t always implement every change suggested by the community, it’s really valuable for us to hear your feedback to help guide the direction we take. We’re always listening”. They also urge people to have their friends sign up as well so that they can explore the new system together.
