As first reported by Engadget, Sony’s retail version of the PlayStation 4 has passed the watchful eye of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), meaning it’s greenlit for sale within the United States.
The documents show a number of specs for the console, including a “max clock frequency” of 2.75 GHz, operating temperatures of 5-35 degrees Celsius, and a weight of approximately 2.8kg.
In comparison, the PlayStation 3 typically runs at temperatures of 45-55 degrees Celsius and the original PS3 model weighed in at a relatively fat 5kg.
The PlayStation 4 launches this fall.
