They say if you dangle a carrot hard enough, your people will never leave you, this is true for Tiny Flock, a sheep game where you dangle a carrot and the sheep chase after it. The food motivated babies, just want the giant cartoonish sized carrot that you the player are refusing to give them. You on the other hand, use their wants to trick them towards the promised land, which is hopefully full of carrots. This Shepherd VR game came out September 29, so it’s relatively newly made, by a team of indie devs, No Brake Games, so you’ll be one of the first to enjoy the game on Meta and Steam VR.
The Launch Trailer shows all the acts you as the Shepherd can do in the game. Starting with the player dangling the carrot, literally. The sheep run in circles chasing it, until one falls off the cliff. We get to know that the devs also made “HUMAN FALL FLAT” as the sheep ride a train cart. Then the player opens the doors of a building, and ‘accidentally’ tosses another sheep off into who knows where. To get them across a mountain, the player adds a door to create a road for the sheep to walk on, while they do, another sheep falls into oblivion. Two’s a coincidence but three’s a pattern, with so many sheep almost dying it’s a wonder there are any left, but the sheep seem to be immortal as all the 5 sheep keep on coming back. To take a break from sheep deaths, there’s a cute shot of the sheep rolling around in a small garden.
Before they’re back with their the player, who stacks boats, plays with in-world materials and even sets tnt in a sheep-filled room. The player plugs in something and in looney tones fashion the immortal sheep fly everywhere. The trailer promises “Breathtaking mini worlds” while showing a carnival, ship and island layouts. The ability to “Interact with Everything” as the player cooks smores in an icy local. Lastly it reveals the end point of the game which is to “Guide your sheep to pastures new,” while showing more sheep abuse and comedic actions from the ‘helpful’ player.
