Curveball Games and Cloth Cat Games have teamed up to bring Planted!, a cooperative party game built around gardening as a combat sport, to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There will be physical editions for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
Planted! turns gardens into competitive arenas where up to four players race to cultivate and weaponize their harvest. The game’s core concept is built on growing produce and using it offensively, with environmental hazards like potato-based turrets and explosive plant-based traps factoring into each match. Players accumulate points by outproducing and outmaneuvering opponents across eight distinct stages, each introducing something new to navigate. The roster offers a cast of characters that differ in personality and playstyle. The game is built to be easy to pick up, but opens up to deeper tactics the longer players spend with it. It draws from the harvest-and-manage structure of farming games and the point-scoring framework of a competitive sports title.
Beyond the multiplayer arenas, Planted! includes a dedicated solo campaign set within the same competitive gardening world. Both local and online multiplayer are supported, with cross-play connecting PC and console players.
Cloth Cat Games is an indie and co-development studio based in Cardiff, Wales, as is their publisher on the project, Curveball Games. Curveball stepped into publishing in September 2025 as a new division under parent company Curveball Leisure, with Ed Gregory, who came over from PlayStation and PQube, leading the label as senior publishing manager. Gregory indicated that Curveball was won over immediately upon hearing the pitch from Cloth Cat. Cloth Cat Games creative producer Ben Cawthorne said:
Planted! has been a background passion project for the Cloth Cat team for the last five years, and we are beyond excited that the game we weren’t able to stop thinking about has now become a reality. We have lots more to dig into, but hope this first look gets players excited at the prospect of combat gardening with their friends!
No release date has been announced beyond the 2026 window.
