‘Planetary Landing’ Trailer Introduces New Genesis: Alpha One Gameplay

Developer Radiation Blue has recently released a new trailer for its upcoming roguelike shooter and survival game, Genesis: Alpha One. The interstellar FPS puts players in the role of a space-bound pioneer, with the ultimate (and lofty) goal of saving humanity from extinction.

“As the Captain of a Genesis starship, you journey into uncharted space on the ultimate mission: find new homes for humanity’s DNA,” wrote Radiation Blue in the unveiling of its new trailer. “To do this you will need to build and manage your spaceship, discover planets and harvest resources from them, clone new crew members, and create new lifeforms to populate new worlds… and of course defend yourself from terrifying alien infestations on your ship! Nobody said saving humanity would be easy.”

Each game you start will feature a randomized universe, and every crew death in that game is permanent; Radiation Blue also delved further into the functions of that crew and a few key goals in Genesis‘ gameplay. “When you touch down on these previously undiscovered planets your trusty crew of clones will set about mining for resources that you need to expand your ship,” Radiation Blue added. “You can either help them out or explore for artifacts, new weapons, blueprints and transmissions all of which will help you in your quest. You may also have to defend yourself and your crew from any hostile alien life forms that populate the planet.”

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
