Phasmophobia 2024 and Beyond Roadmap Update

Kinetic Games has announced a revision of the 2024 and Beyond Roadmap for Phasmophobia. The developers posted this update on Steam. This update details not just changes to the roadmap, but also highlights the future developments of Phasmophobia. The game saw many improvements this past year, with a total redesign of the leveling mechanics used. This update also set all the players’ levels back to zero, but those who started the game before this update received a legacy badge based on the level they were at before this reset.

The most significant change that was made on their roadmap was the removal of the dates. Previously, estimated dates for when updates were going to be released were included in the roadmap. These have since been removed. The smaller updates will now be pushed out when they are ready without the need for one major update. This roadmap includes the update for 1.0, which will push the game out of the early release stage that it has been in since 2020.

Other development updates in this announcement include a console update. This update was supposed to happen back in August, but in a statement made around that time, the developers stated that the release had to be delayed. While they do not give a set deadline for when it will be released, they make the same claim with the roadmap that “it’ll arrive as soon as it’s ready.” Kinetic Games wants to give their players the best possible experience on consoles, so the delay allows them to optimize the game graphically and put in updates with the first release. The team is continuing to work hard to make this a possibility.

The developers have also been working on a new location and reworking some of the current locations. Point Hope Lighthouse is the new location added. With a different gameplay experience and visuals, the location offers a new place for players to learn and enjoy. The two farmhouses will be getting a makeover, as well. The developers are concerned that the layouts are too similar and want to change their look and layout. The Grafton House will be turned into a rundown farmhouse that will include a new seamstress room full of sewing equipment, mannequins, and bolts of fabric. The Blensdale House will become a grander mansion style, with two of the bedrooms turning into different spaces; one a tea room and the other a collectible room. The other change is the attic, with the room split into two parts: storage space and a bedroom.

Phasmophobia is a fully immersive ghost-hunting game with the goal being to grab as much evidence as possible without dying to the ghosts that are at the location the player is investigating. Each ghost is unique, providing varied experiences each time someone plays. There are ten locations to explore, each with its own challenges. From voice recognition to equipment used in the real world, this game offers a truly immersive experience for the player. It also allows up to 4 players.
