PGA Tour 2K23 has officially been announced by 2K and there is already some information that has been released about the game. The game has already released information about some of the playable characters, features, and the official release date.
PGA Tour 2K23 will officially feature Tiger Woods on every cover and the preorders are already live for fans of the franchise. There will be three different editions to the game, with the Deluxe and Tiger Woods editions launching on October 11, followed by the standard edition releasing on October 14. In addition to being the cover athlete for the game, Woods helped work as an executive director and is a playable character in the game as well. When discussing his role as executive director, Woods said “It’s not only great to be back on the cover of a video game, but the Executive Director role makes this a truly unique opportunity,”
The game will also feature 14 male and female golfers as playable characters, including Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, and more. Interestingly, Michael Jordan will also be featured in the game as a playable character. Jordan is a major golf fan and the inclusion is not completely random, he will only be available to play for those who preorder and receive the Michael Jordan bonus pack or those who choose to purchase the pack after the game’s release date.
In addition to news about playable characters, there have been 20 licensed courses that will be included at the launch. Players will also be able to customize and create tracks with the game’s course designer feature. As the game progresses and expands, even more tracks will likely be included to give players more content.
Different modes will be available for the game as well. Similar to previous PGA Tour games, there will be a career mode where players compete against the pros for the FedEx Cup. There will also be a Top Golf mode where players can aim for targets at a driving range and compete for the highest score.
PGA Tour 2K23 has already been confirmed for both the Xbox and Playstation, but there has yet to be confirmation about the game coming to the Nintendo Switch. Regardless, the game is set for a big release and 2K is likely to release even more news soon.
