While both developers and publishers of the fifth installment of popular, Japanese Role-Playing Game Persona 5, has suffered multiple delayed releases since 2013, when it was originally announced for the Playstation 3 (back when it was hot and relevant). The game was previously reported given projected launch of summer 2016.
However, as of recent, the official website for Atlus and the game has unofficially announced the game’s launch with a clever and aesthetically intriguing countdown.
Famous for not only its combat oriented JRPG Persona series, developers at Atlus are also known for titillating and challenging puzzle game Catherine. The game is set to come out for both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, with no word for the PSVR or PS4K (or Playstation Neo, now).
Like most Persona games, the plot of Persona 5 centers itself around young adult in high school, and young adults characters finding their identities.
Previously stated, Atlus developers stated hinderance of the game’s release as:
…a challenge that fuses together a juvenile school setting that is as large as life, together with apicaresque romance. In the previous game, we wrote a story that involved having a justice group chase down a bad guy that could easily be feared by just about anyone.
We, the team, are working together as we advance through development so you can enjoy something with evolved graphics and sound, along with party members that are just a tad bit more ill-behaved than what you’ve been used to up until now.
The game will be releasing this summer of 2016 for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 for an undisclosed price (most likely $60 USD). Whether or not there will be a gap for Japanese and English release is currently unknown.
