Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal Also Releasing for PlayStation 5 and Steam

After a very exciting event yesterday during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022, Atlus finally granted a lot of people’s wishes when they revealed that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal would be coming to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/Series S. Apparently, this was not the only thing that Atlus has planned for the trilogy of titles. According to a twitter account by the name of PLAY Magazine, Atlus has send out a press release stating that all three aforementioned titles will also be coming to the PlayStation 5 as well as the Steam platform on PC.

This was later confirmed by Gamesradar who stated that they also received the press release. This more or less reaffirms that all three titles will launch for the PlayStation 5 and Steam for PC, which in an of itself is an interesting release. It’s worth noting that one of the titles announced for Steam, has in fact already been on Steam for nearly two yearsPersona 4 Golden. In addition, because of its inclusion as a PlayStation 4 title, Persona 4 Royal is backwards compatible for the PlayStation 5, making this “re-release” even more interesting. Of the three entries, only Persona 3 Portable has not been released for any of the aforementioned systems, as it will be the first new iteration of the title since 2009.

Perhaps the most intruding aspect of this news, or the most frustrating part, is that neither title has been announced for the Nintendo Switch. Along with the Xbox and PC platform, the Switch has been a major part of the fan’s arguing for the titles to be released outside of Sony’s systems. With the reveal of the Persona titles going to the Xbox and Steam PC platform, the Switch has been left dwindling in the wind without a mainline entry. Of course we’re still in the middle of June and anything could change, as we still haven’t heard from Nintendo regarding their next Nintendo Direct. If and when they do announce it, there’s a possibility that they will finally unveil the three Persona titles for the Switch.
