If you’ve been paying attention at all to Perception, a game currently being developed by Deep End Games, then you know that the release date has been kept quiet for some time now. That was until yesterday however until the company chose to release a new trailer for their unique horror game.
For the trailer itself, which can be seen below, takes place in the creepy mansion that players will find themselves exploring. But unlike most games, this one’s protagonist happens to be blind. She can only see shapes with a strange almost ghostly viewpoint from the sound waves created from her walking stick as she tries to figure out just what’s going on. There is a “presence” of supernatural origins that currently occupying the mansion.
Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.
The game won’t have first person shooting combat or powers, but instead be played much like Alien: Isolation in the fact that players will need to explore and uncover mysteries while also avoiding detection. Being blind may also effect the difficulty as you will need to tap your walking stick in order to see shapes and figures.
So, to the release date, the game will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 30th, only a little over one month away. Until then keep a close eye on any developments in the near future.
