Last Summer, during the last Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft and developer The Coalition revealed the next chapter in the Gears of War franchise, Gears of War: E-Day. Now, developer People Can Fly has announced that they are returning to the series as a co-development partner with the Coalition. “We are honored to return to the world of Gears of War, a franchise deeply embedded in our studio’s history. As lead developer of the iconic Gears of War Judgment and co-development partner on Gears of War 1-3, we have always been passionate about the series and its legacy,” People Can Fly said in the press release.

Gears of War Judgment follows young Lieutenant Damon Baird and his team Kilo Squad right after the immediate aftermath of Emergence Day and how he became part of Marcus, Dom, Cole, and Delta Squad. Similarly, Gears of War: E-Day goes back to the beginning as we experience the brutal horror of Emergence Day through the eyes of Marcus Fenix in the origin story of one of gaming’s most acclaimed sagas.
