With less than a week to go, PC Gamer has finally announced which companies will be participating in their livestream of the PC Gaming Show. The event will be broadcast this Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 am PST/2:00 pm EST and will feature a who’s who of developers and publishers who will be showcasing brand new IPs as well as updates to existing ones. Speaking of IP’s, PC Gamer has also stated that there will be more than 50 games featured on the show, the most in the event’s history.
The list of participating developers is fairly long, but we’ll highlight a few notable ones to give you an idea of what we’re in store for this Saturday. Tripwire Interactive (Killing Floor) will be making an appearance on the PC Gaming Show once again, as will Rebellion Developments (Sniper Elite). Joining them is also 2K Games (Mafia), SEGA (Yakuza), and Amazon Games (New World). However, the most conspicuous studio on the list is without a doubt Atlus, the developer for the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. The studio tweeted that they “got some exciting news to share” during the event, which could be the long-awaited announcement of either both or one of the franchises being ported to the PC platform.
PC Gamer also stated that while previous shows have been live, this year’s event will entirely pre-recorded while the returning hosts, Sean “Day9” Plott and Frankie Ward, will broadcast from a custom-built studio in Los Angeles. PC Gamer also mentioned that they will be working with a mystery co-host as well as those affiliated in the gaming industry. The event was originally scheduled to take place last week on June 6, but was delayed to June 13 in support of the Black Lives Matter protests that are happening across the nation.
With more than 50 titles to show in just a two-hour span, we imagine that the pacing will be a bit frenetic, which always ended up being the case in previous shows. However, that just adds to the charm of the event, and the PC Gaming Show is always an event we look forward to as it’s filled with a wide variety of games that we don’t see on the bigger stage.
