After its fantastic success last fall, Divinity: Original Sin II will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox One this August. The PC game had an impressive run last year, gaining a solid fan-base and high rating accolades. Now Divinity’s fans await anxiously for its release to consoles.
After the release of Original Sin II, the game earned amazingly high reviews that rarely went below 90%. Those ratings were no surprise, because Original Sin II has such a capturing story line. Within the story of the the first Divinity: Original Sin game, players would pose as Sorcerer hunters “on a quest to rid Rivellon of a forbidden magic known as Source”. Now, in Original Sin II players become the relentlessly hunted Sorcerers “dangerously powerful individuals whose abilities attract Voidwoken – monstrous creatures from the Void”. During the adventure, players can ally with up to three other companions, each equipped with their own background story.
Since Divinity upped its co-op players from 2 to 4, gamers are able to complete the complicated quests with a more diversified company. Because of each heroes story line they will be encouraged to complete quests unique to their character, which can cause “sacrifice – or conflict”. Players can also participate in a PVP arena that hosts up to four heroes per team. Expanded details of the game’s other features can be found on the website.
The eagerness for this game heading to consoles is already a great sign. Fans of the game since it first arrived in 2014 express their enthusiasm with elated memes and statements such as “This makes me happy beyond comparison!!!” and “Yes!!! Thank you for bringing this to my Xbox!!!” Larian Studios share the same excitement and hopefulness alongside their fans and new ones to come. The idea of bringing Divinity: Original Sin II consoles has always been something in the works as the developers of the game state:
We really hope that this version of the game will introduce a world of magic, exploration, mayhem, and relationships to anyone with a taste for the fantastical.
Divinity: Original Sin II has significantly improved from their first game, and the amount of improvements it will face when released to consoles shows to be countless and promising.
