Pathologic 2 has gone through an extensive set of changes. First it was a reboot, then it grew an entirely new identity, and then it had gameplay trailer, and then an announcement that it would be split into three parts. An odd lineup of events for an even odder game. Through all of this, the developers Ice Pick Lodge have been hard at work to bring forth the oddity they promised.
Recently, they had released a demo of the game that showed off the start of the story, the world building around the strangely masked people, and how the player will have to survive. The world is just as strange as anticipated, but once immersed, it seems to pull together quite well. And still really weird. And in the demo, players start off as a doctor/surgeon who believes they know how to cure this outbreak. The location to start off at is in a theater where the player is introduced to a few unique characters. The player character has 12 days to cure this outbreak, and understand that they might not be able to save everyone. But it’s the theater where the next part plays out in the recent trailer:
The trailer explains just about… nothing for those coming in for the first time. But in its bizarre qualities, an intrigue is made of what exactly is going on. And what this game might entail. Who are the people that are talking in the trailer, what on Earth are those things wearing masks, and what does all of this amount to?
Well, mostly it amounts to the fact that Pathologic 2 is currently up for pre-sale on Steam with a 10% discount. Those who already one the first Pathologic can get an additional 10% on top of the first discount. The official release date for Pathologic 2 is May 23, 2019, and will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One for $34.99 USD.
