Looks like it didn’t take Nintendo long to increase the library of the newly added Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Paper Mario will be the newest and tenth title added to the online service and will be available next week on Friday, December 10. Paper Mario was one of the biggest requests from fans to be brought into the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, and it looks like the company is about to grant those wishes in short order.

The company also uploaded a brief trailer for the title as a way to reintroduce it to fans, new and old. The company has even gone so far as to re-explain some of the basic gameplay mechanics of Paper Mario, something that you normally wouldn’t see for a 20-year-old title. Another interesting aspect is that this appears to be the only new addition to not just the Expansion Pack, but the entire Nintendo Switch Online service in general. Usually, the company would roll out a few titles here and there for each platform, however, from what we can tell, Paper Mario is the only new title being put into the library. Hopefully, this is just for the month of December and not a reoccurring practice.
While the gaming community will more than welcome this new addition to the lineup, there’s also more than likely going to be some trepidation to actually play it. Ever since the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack launched, the fans have been in an uproar over the emulation and button mapping on some of the titles. Thankfully, Nintendo quickly responded by patching in an update that more or less has alleviated those issues. Hopefully when Paper Mario gets put in it won’t require the same assistance.
