Palworld Developer Responds to “Haters” Calling Them “Silly”

Pocketpair and their smash hit Palworld have been going through some stressful times with Nintendo finally suing the small developer after months of rumors for IP infringement. The game has also drawn criticism from players who consider it a “meme game”, not taking it seriously. Now, a developer for Pocketpair has come out, defending Palworld from player critiques and hate.

If you hate Palworld, and I mean if you genuinely hate Palworld then do yourself a favor and mute us on Twitter, hide the game on Steam and stop thinking about it.

Bucky is a designer and community manager for Palworld and has spoken out against a recent wave of hate towards the game. He has also spoken out in the past about hateful players in the community. Bucky took to Twitter this time to vent, stating:

You just throw out accusations based on vibes and if you aren’t doing that then it’s just hilariously emotional takes like “can’t wait for you all to lose your jobs and go bankrupt”…If you’re hyping a building full of people losing their jobs then it’s not an us problem, it’s a you problem. These sorts of over-emotional takes are running rampant in the gaming scene these days, but the Palworld ones are particularly silly.

He would also go on to say how he believes that most of the hate is just baiting, saying:

The sad part is most of the directed hate on Palworld is bait. Some rando account that posts 24+ times a day and struggles to get 1000 views per post picks up Palworld as an easy target, gets a cosy half a mil off a low-effort “PALWORLD IS SLOP” post and then milks it for a week.

Bucky’s come at a time where Pocketpair are not the only companies dealing with layoffs in the gaming industry, as multiple developers like Ubisoft, Riot Games, Rocksteady, and more are experiencing the reality of staff layoffs.
