Palworld players will soon be able to engage in PvP matches following a recent announcement. According to PocketPair, a new PvP mode will be coming to Palworld sometime in 2024. The announcement was made during the Triple-i Initiative Indie Showcase on Wednesday, alongside a brief trailer.
The upcoming PvP mode, named Pal Arena, will let players “assemble teams” of their Pals to fight other players. While not much was revealed, the trailer gave players a glimpse of of the trainer characters fighting alongside their teams of three pals in the mode. More information on the Pal Arena will likely be given in the coming months.
Since its launch in January 2024, Palworld managed to accrue massive playerbase and even surpass a 25 million unit sales record. Despite this success, constance comparisons have been made against PalWorld and the popular Nintendo franchise it has taken clear inspiration from, Pokemon.
While Pokemon does have PvP modes of its own, Palworld’s version seems to be differentiating enough that it will give its players a fresh new spin on the feature. Additionally, with Pocketpair’s interest in expanding the platforms Palworld is on, Pal Arena could help the game break even more records.
Palworld is available to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass and PC via Steam. For more information and future updates on Pale Arena, head over to the game’s official website and social media.
