Almost every gamer in the world knows Pac-Man and his recognizable features. He has been a juggernaut of the industry since his original game in 1980. Since then, the series has expanded with sequels, spinoffs and crossovers. One of the most beloved of the pellet-muncher’s adventures is PAC-MAN WORLD 2, a 3D platforming adventure with a wide array of moves that set it apart from its peers. Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment released the highly anticipated remake, PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC.

The original game saw Pac-Man travel to different lands in order to stop the main antagonist, Spooky, and the classic ghosts that he has enlisted to help him. The game follows a classic 3D platformer structure of reaching the end of the stage to progress, collecting various collectables in order to increase the score at the end of each level. Pac-Man also gains access to various Power Pellets that can change his abilities in the middle of a level to help with certain challenges. Pac-Man’s mobile move set helps him traverse gaps and defeat enemies above, bellow, and in front of himself.

On their official website, Bandai Namco give some additional details on what changes fans can expect from the remake. Built from the ground up, the remake promises to keep everything that made the original game special while also adding more. In addition to the enhanced graphics, Re-PAC adds new missions and updates the bosses from their original versions. The game also sports new costumes, one of which will be coming with the Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration Content in November. One of the features that long-time fans of the series will be sure to recognize is the addition of voicing for Pac-Man. The main character is voiced by Martin Sherman, who voiced him in the original game’s sequel, PAC-MAN WORLD 3. 

One of Pac-Man’s most endearing features is the connection that many have to the character from a young age by playing his games. The remake gives players the opportunity to go on another adventure, either as a nostalgic trip or brand-new experience. PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC was released today for Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam.
