Blizzard continues to add more content to Overwatch, this time without an ARG. It was revealed yesterday by fan channel Overwatch Central that along with the Symmetra overhaul a new map is live on the PC version’s Public Test Realm.
You can check out the full look at the map in the video above, but here’s the quick breakdown.
From the looks of it, the area is part resort, part university, part lab. The first part of the video showcases an open-air map that lives up to the “Oasis” title. Players either start in a restaurant or a hotel lobby before diving into the map that is strewn with jump pads and an active freeway. Yes, the biggest hazard on the map is a tunnel that is continuously spewing cars throughout the match. The cars are mostly out of the way but they will kill you if you get hit by one as one unlucky Genji showed in the video.
The video then shifts to what looks like a lab which serves as a starting area for one team. Once the match starts players can run around a vertical map. In the center of the map is a spiral staircase without out a railing ensuring instant death for anyone not paying attention. There is also a massive lecture hall players can see with some random math on the board. The hall itself is blocked by glass.
It’s unclear when the map will come out of testing, but if you own Overwatch on PC you can download the Public Test Realm and try it out right now.
