The first week of the 2019 season of the Overwatch League’s results are in and it provided just as much excitement as the end of the 2018 season. The team that came out on top and seemed the most poised to continue a hot streak was the Philadelphia Fusion. However, two other teams got off to an undefeated start with the Fusion with the Hangzhou Spark and New York Excelsior also winning two matches and losing none. Check out one of the most insane highlights of the week:

The beginning of the season has put the prize for Stage 1 in the sights of each team with a $500,000 purse that will be dispersed. Along with the three dominate teams at the start of the year, the Boston Uprising ousted the Houston Outlaws on Sunday after losing their first match to New York on Thursday. The Atlanta Reign completely swept the Florida Mayhem and the San Francisco Shock did the same to the Dallas Fuel. Though, San Francisco was later outed by one round by the Los Angeles Gladiators on Week 1’s final day. Find the full scores and results for the first four days of season 2019 here.
Since the joining of several more teams to the Overwatch League, the esport only got bigger and bigger. The continuation of these battles will pick back up for Week 2 this Thursday through Sunday. The first stage will contain five weeks of matches before the award is handed out to the winners, which will then be followed by three more stages in the season with five weeks for their respective stage.
Two of these weeks that have been highlighted on the Overwatch League’s schedule are Stage 3: Week 5 and Stage 4: Week 5. The former will be a “homestand” for the Atlanta Reign in their city against Paris, Toronto, and Los Angeles. The latter will be the Los Angeles Valiants “homestand” where they will try to cap off the 2019 season.
