Xbox has announced that Outriders, developer People Can Fly’s upcoming genre-hybrid will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on Day One when it launches next month. On Xbox Wire, Megan Spurr, Community Lead, Xbox Game Pass said “we all got a taste of Outriders with the recent demo, so I’m thrilled to announce that Outriders will be available on Console and Android phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass on day one!”
“Starting April 1 (not an April Fool’s joke, I assure you), Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can jump into this true genre-hybrid from Square Enix, which combines brutal combat with deep RPG systems,” Spurr continued.
Set in the distant future, Outriders follows humanity as they search for a new home. They believe they found one on the planet Enoch but a mysterious storm called the Anomaly changes things. The Anomaly causes the player to become an Altered, a being with access to powerful skills and healing abilities. With your new skills and abilities, you embark on a journey to discover a mysterious signal that you discovered before clashing with the Anomaly as well as dealing with the dangers of an untamed world.
Last month, People Can Fly released an Outriders demo which includes the prologue and opening chapter of the game. Players have 6 character slots with 4 playable classes so players can try out all the classes. Character level is capped at 7 and the World Tier, which is the dynamic difficulty system, is capped at 5. The higher the Tier, the higher the difficulty, and the better chance at higher rarity gear is increased.
Progress from the demo can be transferred into the full game on the same platform account. So Xbox Game Pass owners can try out the demo if they haven’t already and then get the full game as part of the membership when it launches on April 1.
