Recently, an announcement (in the form of a YouTube video) from Nintendo revealed that Paper Mario: The Origami King will be releasing for Nintendo Switch on July 17th. Pre-Orders for this title are now available on Amazon and GameStop, with the price retailing at $60 USD for both the digital and the physical copy. This information was said in a new debut trailer that was released on YouTube Tuesday. This release of Paper Mario also seems to feature a new battle system based on a combination of puzzle-solving with turn-based combat, as they seem to want to put a new twist onto the popular games.
The thirty-second trailer shows the story of Mario and his adventures with his new partner Olivia (and a new villain by the name of King Olly). Along with these new characters, the game will also feature many fan-favorite and iconic characters like Toad, the Goombas, and the Bob-Ombs. Storywise, it revolves around Mario setting out on an adventure to save Princess Peach and the rest of the land from King Olly and his minions. More recruitable characters include Bowser, Bowser Jr., and many of the minions that are found in Bowser’s castle.
For those that want to hear about more updates regarding Paper Mario, the Super Mario_UK account seems to be the most focused social media account for the game’s release. While this account seems dedicated to hyping fans up for the release, they are also there to answer any (spoiler-free) questions that fans have about the game.
