Earlier today, a 30-minute gameplay demo for Obsidian Entertainment’s newest survival game Grounded was released to Xbox One Consoles and the Steam platform for PC. The only way to get access to the demo on Xbox is by being registered for Xbox Insider, but players can get their hands on the demo through Steam as a part of Steam’s Summer game’s festival. The demo for Grounded will be live from now until June 22nd on Xbox and Steam, with the release slated for July. Starting on July 28th of this year, Grounded will be available via Steam Early Access and the Xbox Game Pass. Set in the backyard of the player’s home, Grounded shrinks players and their friends down to the size of ants as they survive, build, and fight in the jungle-like backyard. The demo available will give players a chance to check out the single-player aspect of the game, before the multiplayer build for the game releases on launch.
Much like other popular survival games like Rust or Ark: Survival Evolved, players will need to loot around the environment in order to build a vast assortment of tools, weapons, and shelter in order to survive in the hostile backyard they now live in. Creating a bow from the tree-like flowers around them or create a house made entirely of grass are just a few of the unique things players can do with the environment around them. With character models no taller than one centimeter tall, the insects that you may come across will seem massive and prove to be quite dangerous. Players will be also able to create shelters together to protect from the hordes of ants, wasps, and other aggressive insects. While the demo is only single-player and available until the 22nd, players will be able to restart the demo as often as they like in order to get a feel for how survival in the game works. The game can be added to wishlists on the Steam Page right now (linked earlier in the story) and more information can be found on the official Xbox page for Grounded.
