The wait is over, and it’s time to start your adventure in the town of Pao Pao. In this seaside town, there is always something to do; whether it be exploring the cozy hideaways, meeting the adorable locals, collecting resources in nature, or taking a calming stroll. To add to the immersion, PAO PAO works on a “full day-night cycle” and has varying weather that can and will fluctuate throughout gameplay.
Play solo or bring along up to three friends to begin your venture into a new life in town. Work in the restaurant business and take over a kitchen to cook meals, tend tables, and work on make the small space the restaurant of your dreams.
While the restaurant is your main job, this is a game about more than a kitchen. It is truly your choice on what to do here, there’s an entire bustling world beyond the walls of the restaurant. Go fishing on a boat or right on the shore to capture the most eccentric marine life the town has to offer. You can also go to your own field and tend and harvest your crops like a true farmer. If manual labor is not your ideal way of passing time, there is an arcade in town to visit and spend your afternoon there. Regardless of what speaks to you, “When work is over, there’s always something fun to do.”
If you choose to have your friends accompany you, you could be responsible and work your restaurant shifts as responsible business owners, or you could completely skip your shifts and have fun in town. Split up to explore the town on your own, or join together to “Organize boat races, play basketball, shoot each other with water guns, and turn an ordinary day into your own little adventure.”
To add to the gameplay, your character, restaurant, and home is customizable. Choose an outfit for your furry avatar that reflect your personality, make your restaurant warm and inviting to customers, and create a home perfect to wind down in after an eventful day.
