Developer North Beach Games Prague and publisher North Beach Games have revealed Stranded Deep 2, an upcoming PC survival simulation shifting the franchise away from its tropical roots. Planned for an Early Access launch on Steam, the announcement arrived with debut trailer which showcased expansive arid environments, extensive water traversal, and a unique mobile base mechanic. Franchise creator Sam Edwards returns to direct this highly anticipated upcoming project.
In Stranded Deep 2, players are challenged to endure a visually striking yet highly lethal desert landscape. Instead of trapping survivors on isolated islands, the map features a limitless waterway cutting through steep ravines and massive sand dunes. Each journey provides a distinct generated experience, requiring explorers to traverse hazardous waters and peaceful streams aboard custom rafts or kayaks. Gameplay heavily focuses on micromanaging immediate biological necessities. Adventurers must carefully monitor their hydration, starvation, physical health, and overall exposure to extreme weather. Staying alive demands strict environmental awareness, forcing players to identify warning signs like animal noises, footprints, or rapidly shifting currents before disaster strikes. Predators actively stalk the riverbanks, meaning a careless stop for resources could quickly trigger a deadly ambush.
As individuals progress further into the unknown, they must gather materials and construct specialized tools to establish a functional aquatic habitat. Whenever an area runs out of supplies, this entire floating shelter can sail downriver toward untouched territory, or it can be anchored permanently along the shore. The crafting mechanics allow immense personalization, permitting users to select exact resources for individual tool components. Additionally, the surrounding biome functions as an active ecosystem featuring a realistic food chain.
Created with community feedback in mind, the sequel will receive continuous updates adding fresh biomes and wildlife. Stranded Deep 2 is currently scheduled to launch via Steam Early Access and can be wishlisted right now.
