Hello Games has announced a new update for No Man’s Sky called Beyond. It will contain three major updates that will be part of a free release for the game. The first part of the update is called No Man’s Sky Online, which will include a new social and multiplayer experience that is going to make players want to meet and play together. Hello Games has stressed that while this will bring players together like never before and will include several recognizable online elements, it is not an MMO.
There will be no subscription, no microtransactions, and it will be free for all existing players still playing No Man’s Sky. More information about each component of Beyond will be revealed when Hello Games knows that they can be precise about what new thing they’ll bring to the game.
In the announcement, Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games said, “Beyond will be our most ambitious chapter so far, and something we’ve been working ridiculously hard on. We’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”
No Man’s Sky came back in a big way last with the big NEXT update that completely changed the game in many ways. The biggest change was the addition of being able to meet other players in game, which was a feature heavily requested by the community. The NEXT update also provided a graphical overhaul, the ability to build command freighters with customizable frigates which were used to engage in multiplayer missions, and a simplified crafting system and improved inventory management.
The latest No Man’s Sky update, VISIONS introduced new biomes, fauna, and flora; more colorful worlds, archeology, salvaging, fireworks, and more. There was also the introduction to community research missions that allow players to share their progress and work towards a common goal.
No Man’s Sky Beyond will be coming in the summer.
