In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Hello Game’s Founder Sean Murray announced that No Man’s Sky will release on August 9th in the US, August 10th in Europe and August 13th in the UK.
Murray also apologized for the delay and said that development is going well.
We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right…And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well.

No Man’s Sky, this year’s most hyped game, might be getting delayed.
Two sources over at Kotaku reported yesterday that No Man’s Sky won’t be hitting its June 21st (June 24th in the UK) release date. Sources at Techradar were able to corroborate the information.
One of Kotaku’s sources works for Game Stop and sent them images of a No Man’s Sky poster. Where the poster originally said the game’s release date has been replaced with a sticker simply saying “Coming Soon”.
As of right now, the release date is unknown but Kotaku says that the game will be pushed to sometime in July or August. Techradar’s sources weren’t able to confirm this information, but they said that game might still make the initial release, so fingers crossed.
Hello Games, the small UK developer, has their work cut out for them when developing this game. Called an open galaxy game, players can travel across a massive proceduraly generated galaxy filled with randomly created worlds and creatures. The game will also have its fare share of combat and crafting. A few months ago No Man’s Sky developer Sean Murray visited The Late Show With Stephen Colbert where he showed off the exploration aspect of the game.
How it works is if you are the first person to discover a planet or species, you are the one who gets to name it, and with a supposed 18 quintillion unique worlds, it looks like everyone will get to have their own planet.
Whenever No Man’s Sky comes out fans will be able to go exploring on PS4 and PC.
