Nioh’s Dragon of The North DLC Release Date Announced

Team Ninja has recently announced that the Dragon of The North DLC will be released on May 2 for Playstation 4. A posting on Playstation Blog by creative director Tom Lee stated that the downloadable add on will feature “a variety of new Yokai and imposing enemies set in exciting new stages.” He continued: “Rest assured, we will provide you with some formidable ammunition of your own to negotiate your battles. With new Guardian Spirits, armor, ninja skills, magic and a brand-new weapon called the Odachi, you should be well prepared to take on your foes.”

Team Ninja also will release Nioh’s player verses player mode along with the new DLC. The game mode will require a PS Plus subscription to play but the pvp mode will be available for free.

The season pass for Nioh is currently available on the Playstation Store for  £19.99/$24.99. The season pass gives players access to the Dragon of The North DLC, as well as the upcoming Defiant Honor and Bloodshed’s End expansion packages for a cheaper price than buying them both individually. Dragon of the North takes place after the main character William restores peace to Japan. It introduces a new character based on Masamune Date, a ruler from the Keicho Era.

“Masamune is a well-known historical figure who is both brilliant and ruthless,” Lee explained. “Although he was an exceptional leader; his ambition and lust for power blinded him to all else. He was known for being an impulsive leader who was wildly arrogant of his abilities–believing he was superior to most men, yet at the same time greatly devoted to the his land and subjects. We found this disparity in his personality to be something that we could utilize to create a memorable character and a formidable adversary for William.”

Nioh Fans can look forward to playing as this new Masamune inspired character in the Dragon of The North DLC at the beginning of May.
