There are currently two new features that have been revealed for Nioh 2. The first new feature is that was revealed was character creation. The character creation will allow players to modify all aspects of their character including race and gender. The second features that was revealed was that players will be able to turn into a yokai. According to Gaming Bolt, the reason for this is due to the characters unique background as half human and half yokai.
The game doesn’t have a definitive launch date with trailers stating that the game will be released in early 2020. The trailer also hinted at several key figures from the Warring States Era of Japan. The trailer mentions Hideyoshi and according to Polygon, the character shown at the end of the trailer is a younger Oda Nobunaga. The trailer also gives a little bit of background surrounding the events of Nioh 2. An unnamed voice states, “War is unending, perhaps it must be that way as long as people are people.” This statement implies that the Japan that the player enters will be one torn apart by war. The release date for Nioh 2 is unknown however, it will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
