Nintendo has announced a handful new games coming to the Nintendo Switch Online library. Five classic Mega Man games from the Game Boy era will be playable on Nintendo’s online service.
Players can experience MEGA MAN: DR. WILY’S REVENGE, MEGA MAN II, MEGA MAN III, MEGA MAN IV, and MEGA MAN V when they release later today.
This is the latest in Nintendo initiative to revitalize it’s classic catalogue of games for a modern audience using it’s online service. Currently, according to NintendoLife, Nintendo has added 24 Game Boy/ Game Boy Color games and 15 Game Boy Advance games in its library, excluding the five new games just announced.
Nintendo also plans to continue expanding its library with other classic titles on the Nintendo 64, NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis. Additionally, while still unconfirmed, fans speculate that the online service could see titles from the GameCube appearing soon.
Considering the limited time release of Super Mario Sunshine, it wouldn’t be a surprise if that turned out to be true. Until then, Nintendo Switch Online members be sure to check out the new releases.
