Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Reportedly Coming This Week On January 16

Following the recent weeks of leaks, reports, theories, and more, we are reportedly, days away from the official reveal of Nintendo Switch 2. This is according to Nate the Hate, a reliable leaker. Similar to the original Nintendo Switch, the plan for the Switch 2 reveal will be similar. Nate the Hate claims that a reveal trailer will be released later this week which will focus on the hardware. Then, a software showcase would come later in late February or early March.

“I can share with you that Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed in the coming week… I have been told Switch 2 will be revealed on Thursday, January 16… just a few days from now,” Nate the Hate said. “I’ve heard that the reveal itself is going to focus almost exclusively on the console itself. There is not going to be any presence of games. There could be a game shown running on the screen, depending on how the trailer is put together, but software is not going to be a focus.”

Both VGC and The Verge have corroborated the report and say that this aligns with the plans they’ve heard.

Nate the Hate believes that Nintendo Switch 2 will launch in May or June which also matches what VGC has heard from its sources. A new version of Mario Kart will be available at launch which will be followed by a 3D Mario released later this year during the Holidays.

Nate the Hate also went on to talk about some of the third-party games which will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

“I’ve been told that Ubisoft is doing more than half a dozen games for the Switch 2, and a lot of them are going to be late ports. These are from a range of franchises like The Division and Rainbow Six Siege. There was also some discussion and consideration of doing a Mario Rabbids collection, so it would have one and two in a single package,” Nate the Hate said.

This also includes several titles from the Assassin’s Creed series. “One title that will be there within the launch window comes from Ubisoft, and it’s going to be Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” Nate the Hate said. “To my understanding, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one of those in development ports, it just won’t be ready for launch, and it probably won’t be ready for the launch window,” it was claimed.

Another third-party that will reportedly planning to support the Nintendo Switch 2 includes Konami.

“Some other third party games I have heard include Metal Gear Solid Delta, which is coming out in 2025,” Nate the Hate said. “Right now it lacks a release date for all platforms, and I’m hopeful that maybe it’s a day and date release when it does come to Switch 2, because if that game, let’s say comes out in the summer of 2025, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be day and date.”

There are also reports that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are coming to both the PlayStation 5 and Switch 2.
