After much theory and speculation followed recently by all the different leaks, the Nintendo Switch successor, Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been announced and revealed by Nintendo. As it was reported earlier this week, the official first-look trailer just offers a quick glimpse at the hardware. However, as it was detailed, Nintendo has also announced a Nintendo Direct for its new hardware in April where they will provide more details.
The only small detail that was shared was that “Nintendo Switch 2 plays Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games.” That being said, Nintendo did make sure to note that “certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.” Details on that will be shared at a later date.
Nintendo has also announced its plans for Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events in cities around the world, where consumers will be able to go hands-on with Nintendo Switch 2. A Nintendo account will be required to participate. Registrations for consumers will begin in the near future. Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events will run from April through June.
