Nintendo has revealed its next hardware product. No, it’s not the sequel to Nintendo Switch. Today, Nintendo has revealed and announced an interactive alarm clock designed to add some Nintendo charm to people’s homes and their daily routine called the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.
The Alarmo features motion sensor technology that responds to a sleeper’s movements, allowing people to snooze their alarm with motion alone and stop it by simply getting out of bed. People can tailor their routine and make waking up fun by picking from 35 scenes inspired by five Nintendo titles including Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.
After picking a scene, people will set a time and let Alarmo deal with the rest. Those with Alarmo will experience immersive sounds and music from the scene they picked. Some of the experiences include rising to the sounds of the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario and friends, beginning the day’s adventure with Link and Princess Zelda, or starting the day fresh with the inklings from Splatoon 3.
People can also check Records which keeps track of how much they move around in their sleep, set an hourly chime themed to the chosen title, and change between Steady or Gentle modes for their morning alarm. The alarm gradually gets more intense the longer someone stays in bed; conversly, Gentle mode offers a more consistent intensity level. A Button mode is also available for a more traditional, tactile “hit the snooze button” alarm clock experience. Sleepy sounds are also available to use to wind down with soothing music and sounds at a set bedtime.
Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo will become available starting in early 2025 for $99.99. Nintendo Switch Online members in the U.S. and Canada can purchase Alarmo early via the My Nintendo Store today.
