Nintendo Promising More Switch & SNES Consoles For The Holidays

During a recent interview between Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé and the Washington Post, Reggie stated that the company is making strides in order to ensure that stores will have a regular supply of both Nintendo Switch consoles as well as Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic units. This is music to the ears of many Nintendo fans. With the holiday season basically here, many gamers are aiming to get their hands on at least one of these consoles. They’ve had a lot to look forward to in terms of the new hardware and games to play, however many haven’t had the best of luck picking up any of these consoles due to their scarcity and the high demand for them.

The company is now trying to redeem itself from last year’s release of the NES Classic by continuing to sell the SNES Classic into next year. The NPD Group reported that the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo SNES Classic were the top-selling consoles for October. That officially makes it the third month in a row that Nintendo beat both Sony and Microsoft in sales.

However, although this increase in production might mean that there will be enough systems to go around, there is a drawback that fans should be aware of.  Fans shouldn’t expect any Black Friday sales on either of the systems that other consoles will have. Fils-Aimé stated “We are not discounting the Switch, We’re focusing on making sure we have robust supply at retail.” So apart from a couple of bundles featuring cases themed to hit games “Super Mario Odyssey” and “Splatoon 2,” there aren’t additional holiday discounts from Nintendo.
