Below is a full recap of all the titles revealed during the November 2023 Indie World Showcase.

After 20 years, the fan-favorite Half-Genie Shantae returns in Shantae: Risky Revolution, an authentic retro follow-up that features what fans come to expect from the action-adventure platformer, hair-whipping, belly dancing action. The game will feature multiple chapters, numerous towns and labyrinths, six creature transformations, fierce bosses, and a four-player co-op mode. A new gameplay mechanic introduced in Risky Revolution allows the titular Shantae being able to create new paths through each area. Shantae does this by repositioning the foreground and background layers and moving between them to navigate and explore. Shantae: Risky Revolution is set to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2024.

Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition includes both the base game and the expansion, Echoes of the Eye. Outer Wilds puts players in the shoes of a new recruit searching for clues throughout a solar system that finds itself trapped in a time loop. Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition launches for Nintendo Switch next month on December 7.

On Your Tail is set to launch in 2024. Players star as Diana, a intrepid young detective in the seaside village of Borgo Marina. Throughout the narrative life sim, players will have to search the streets and shops for leads to mysteries behind the village’s idyllic exterior.

Backpack Hero is a deck-building roguelike that focuses on how items are organized in your backpack in addition to what you carry. The right spot unleashes their true power. Players will explore the ancient Dungeon, fight foes in turn-based battles and encounter a variety of colorful allies. Players can choose between five Backpack Heroes that come equipped with unique powers, mechanics, and items. Loot obtained in the Dungeon can be used to rebuild the hometown, Haversack Hill. The game is now available for Nintendo Switch.

Howl is a turn-based, tactical folktale illustrated in a beautiful “living ink” art style. The game is about a fairytale world being ravaged by the titular Howl, a sinister plague spreading through sound. It’s up to a deaf prophet to find the cure and bring peace back to the realm. Players will engage in combat challenges that allows players to foretell the actions of the enemies, planning up to six moves in advance and using the environment to their advantage. Howl is now available on Nintendo Switch. A free demo of the game is also available for players to try the game out.

Blade Chimera is a 2D action pixel art game that gives players access to the powerful Lumina Sword, a demon transformed into a deadly weapon. In addition to cutting, the Sword has the ability to interfere with time itself, restoring once-destroyed stairs, bridges, and platforms to reach new areas. Players are tasked with protecting a future dystopian Osaka from demon attacks that takes an unexpected turn. Blade Chimera will be a timed console exclusive and is set to launch Spring 2024.

In Death Trick: Double Blind, a non-linear detective visual novel set in Morgan’s Traveling Circus, players are tasked with the disappearance of star magician Hattie. Players will take control of an unlikely duo – one a fellow magician, the other a private eye with a bout of amnesia – who will investigate Hattie’s disappearance alternatively, each with their own unique perspective and information. The catch is that players will only be limited to a set number of actions so they will have to think carefully and decide which leads to pursue. Death Trick: Double Blind will launch first for consoles on Nintendo Switch in 2024. A free demo is available to download in the Nintendo eShop.

The Star Named EOS is a first-person storytelling puzzle adventure game that features a beautiful panoramic world. Players will explore photography and the ways we can capture the fleeting moments that shape our lives as Dei, a young photographer tracing the footsteps of his mother. As players find and collect items filled with memories, players will help Dei find the truth behind his mother’s absence. The game releases Spring 2024.

Moonstone Island is a creature-collecting, dungeon-crawling, deck-building life sim that features 100 procedurally generated islands in the sky for players to explore. The goal is to become a world-renowned alchemist. The game features 60 adorable spirits to collect in a card-based combat system. Players can craft items, tend to their farm, brew potions, decorate their home, befriend the local villagers, and fall in love as they become part of the community. Moonstone Island launches as a timed exclusive for Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024.

Core Keeper launches in Summer 2024. Players will explore a vast cavern full of creatures, relics, and resources in a mining sandbox adventure where up to eight players can work together in online co-op multiplayer. It’s up to players to uncover the secrets of this long forgotten world as they get drawn towards a mysterious relic. Players can choose to take it slow by gathering resources, growing crops and building bases, or dive into the action by leveling up your skills, battling ancient bosses and exploring the everchanging landscape.
