With E3 2018 drawing ever closer, more and more companies are revealing their plans for the biggest week in gaming. Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and Microsoft have already locked in their presentation times. Now, Nintendo has now joined in the mix and announced when their briefing will take place. Instead of having a live conference like many other participating companies, Nintendo’s briefing will take place as a prerecorded video. The briefing will be shown on June 12 at 9 am PT.
Nintendo hasn’t shared much information or teased on what specifically will be shown during this years briefing, but the company does state that they will be focusing on titles that are launching sooner rather than those that aren’t slated for a 2018 release. Fans are hoping for news on a new Pokemon RPG for the Switch as well as a new Metroid Prime.
But it’s pretty safe to say that Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch will have a big presence during the presentation as well as the E3 show floor as it will be playable during the convention. Immediately following the briefing, the annual Nintendo Treehouse live broadcast will begin which will take place over the next three days and will include gameplay reveals, discussions with developers, and lots of other events.
Nintendo also stated that fans will be able to play a variety of other unnamed titles and that some “most noteworthy” third-party games for Switch will be “featured across several Nintendo activities throughout the week.” Nintendo will also be holding gaming tournaments for Splatoon 2 on June 11 as well as Super Smash Bros. the following day.
