Nintendo fans were able to get a glimpse at the upcoming releases for the Nintendo Switch in the June 2024 Nintendo Direct Tuesday morning. The over 40 minute direct contained information on upcoming remasters, and new titles, that said the most surprising reveal was saved for last.
A first look at the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was finally revealed through a brief teaser trailer. According to the press release, the latest entry within the metroid franchise, under the new name Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, will be the next daunting mission for Samus Aran, he galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter.
The teaser trailer showcased the iconic first-person gameplay format of the Metroid Prime series with modern graphics. While there has been no information in regards to the game’s story, we see Samus Aran battling against new enemy types and a mysterious masked figure cornering the bounty hunter, wearing a darker variant of her power armor suit and arm cannon.
While it’s unlikely Nintendo will reveal more information about their latest Metroid game this summer, Metroid fans will likely see an update in Holiday 2024 at the earliest or sometime next year.
Meanwhile, Nintendo fans can expect to hear more information on other upcoming releases like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and more soon.
