Yesterday, Nintendo announced that the first Direct for 2022 was coming today. They said that it’s primarily focused on the games coming during the first half of 2022. Here is a rundown of everything that was announced and showcased for the Nintendo Direct February 2022.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes was revealed. The game is coming June 24, 2022. The game is set in the same universe as in Fire Emblem: Three Houses but will have a different story.
More details were revealed for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. Each Commanding Officer is now voiced. In Advance Wars, players advise the colorful cast of officers and use them and their skills in turn-based battles. More Commanding Officers and more diverse terrain will be available in the sequel, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. One of the new features coming to both games is the ability to fast forward and reset turns for a smoother and more tactile experience. Additional modes include War Room where players compete for high scores, the Design room where players can create maps, and local and online multiplayer where you can battle your friends. The game is available on April 8.
No Man’s Sky is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Summer.
Mario Strikers: Battle League was announced. Players can tackle, use items, and perform special shots in a different type of soccer game. Gear changes a character’s appearance and stats. Hyper Strikes allow for the opportunity to score multiple goals. Up to 8 players can play, with 4 on each team. There is also an Online Club mode where up to 20 players can join. You can compete against other Clubs to see who is the best Mario Strikers Club in the world. The game launches on June 10, 2022.
A new look was revealed for Splatoon 3. The trailer focused on the co-op experience, the next wave of Salmon Run. Splatoon 3 is set to release this Summer.
Front Mission 1st Remake was announced. The new edition of the game will be available this Summer. Front Mission 2 Remake will also be coming to Nintendo Switch in the future.
Disney Speedstorm was revealed. This free-to-play game allows players to race up the track as their favorite Disney characters, each with their own unique special abilities to gain an advantage during the race. Each racer will also have a powerful ultimate skill that they can use. New Seasons will be added regularly with new characters, circuits, and karts coming. The game is coming this Summer.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is coming to the Nintendo Switch. You can use button controls or enhanced motion controls. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed launches on Nintendo Switch on April 20. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch later this month on February 17. SD Gundam Battle Alliance has players piloting mobile battle suits and engaging in dynamic RPG battles. The game will be available sometime this year.
Chrno Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster of an RPG classic. Players can turn off enemy encounters and listen to a new soundtrack for the game. The Radical Dreamers Edition features Chrono Cross and Radical Dreamers, a text-based prologue to Chrono Cross. The game will be available on April 7.
A new look was released for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The new gameplay trailer showcased new gameplay mechanics coming to the game. In Mouthful mode, Kirby can inhale things like cars, vending machines, and more to fight or traverse the world in a new way. The game is set to release on March 25, 2022.
MLB: The Show 22 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Every entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud features all three game collections for Kingdom Hearts. Each collection is also available individually. Everything will be available tomorrow.
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 8.
Portal Companion Edition includes Portal and Portal 2. The collection will be available later this year. Live A Live is finally coming over to the West. The game features seven different stories with different protagonists in different time periods and gameplay styles. Live A Live comes July 2022.
Nintendo Switch Sports is the next entry in the Nintendo Sports series. The game will feature tennis, bowling, and from the previous games. New to the series are Soccer, Badminton, and Volleyball. The game will be available on April 29, 2022. Golf will be added later in the Fall.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival has been announced. 76 songs will be available at launch including an orchestral version of the main theme from The Legend of Zelda. Players can also subscribe to a paid in-game subscription service that gives access to over 500 songs when the game launches. The game is coming later this year.
Triangle Strategy is coming soon. A new playable demo launches today. It goes to the end of chapter 3. Progress made during the demo can be transferred over to the main game.
Cuphead – The Delicious Last Course is coming to Nintendo Switch June 30.
A New free update is coming to Metroid Dread. The update is available starting today and brings in two new difficulty options. Dread mode ups the difficulty. You take one hit and it’s game over. Rookie mode makes things easier by increasing Recovery. A second free update coming in April will add a boss-rush mode.
EarthBound and EarthBound: Beginnings are coming to Nintendo Switch Online later today.
New courses are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will add 48 new courses to the game by the end of 2023. The first wave of courses includes Wii Coconut Mall, Choco Mountain, Tokyo Blur and more. Each wave will consist of 8 courses. There will be a total of 6waves. Wave 1 of courses will be available next month on March 18, 2022. The pass costs $24.99. It is also available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription at no additional cost.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been announced. The game is coming later this year in September. Players will take on the roles of Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters will be involved in a grand tale with “life” serving as the central theme. The new world connects the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches later this year in September.
