Like clockwork, Nintendo, out of nowhere, has announced its next Nintendo Direct. Nintendo said to tune in for around 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo has confirmed that this will be the longest Direct ever, outside of a console unveiling. For comparison, the Switch 2 reveal earlier this year lasted one hour and two minutes.
Currently, Metroid Prime 4 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment don’t have release dates but are slated to come out this year which means we’re more than likely getting those dates at this Friday. However, the Super Mario Bros. might have a big presence at the Direct with the 40th anniversary of the franchise is on Saturday. We might get multiple announcements, some for Nintendo Switch online, new games, and the possible first look at The Super Mario Bros. sequel which is set to release next year.
There are also several high-profile third-party games in the pipeline so we may get info on multiple Resident Evil games coming to Switch 2, multiple games from Xbox, and possibly more Assassin’s Creed titles.
On the original Switch, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Rhythm Heaven Groove are set to release in 2026.
It looks like we’re getting a rundown on the next wave of Nintendo Switch 2 games coming within the next two years, but we’ll have to wait and see what gets revealed.
